Inspection and Tree Risk Assessment
If you have any concerns about the risk a tree may pose to people or property, contact us to make an appointment for an inspection and a tree risk assessment. When internal decay is suspected, we sometimes take core samples from the trunk of the tree to see how much decay is present, as well as to gather information about the age and growth rate of the tree. This information helps us to evaluate the risk. Stephen Goddard, owner of ArboExcellence, has been an ISA Certified Arborist (QU-0103A) since 2007 and became ISA Tree Risk Assessment Qualified in 2017.
Tree Planting
Whether you wish to give your landscape a natural look using indigenous species of trees and shrubs, or plant a Cedar hedge for privacy, you can count on our expertise and the quality of the work we do. Before planting, we take many factors into consideration, such as species hardiness, sun or shade tolerance, and size of the tree at maturity, so that the right tree for the site is chosen. All the trees we plant come with a 1-year guarantee.
Tree and Shrub Fertilization
Trees and shrubs require essential nutrients to grow and remain healthy. While these nutrients are usually present in a natural forest, soil conditions in an urban environment may be less than ideal. We use high-quality products specific to the species’ needs.
Insect and Disease Detection
Some diseases and insects can kill trees, while other insects are beneficial or do only minor damage. As a certified arborist, owner Stephen Goddard can help you identify invasive species, such as the emerald ash borer now found in Sherbrooke, and advise you on the steps to take.
Consulting
If you have any questions about your trees or forests, we will try to answer them. For example, you may want to consult with us to know what trees to plant on your property or to how to improve your forest through selective cutting. If we do not know the answer, we will do our best to find it for you, or refer you to someone else who may have it. As a professional member of the SIAQ, ArboExcellence adheres to a code of ethics requiring us to be honest and not exaggerate our knowledge and skills.
Bridge and Trail Construction
We enjoy being in the forest and working to create trails and bridges to make nature more accessible. We would be pleased to help you realize these types of projects, done in a way that protects the natural environment, for example through the use of rot resistant untreated wood like Cedar and Hemlock.
Ice and Snow Removal, Cat Rescue
ArboExcellence has the ropes and safety equipment necessary to handle the most difficult jobs. If a job requires climbing and complicated rope work, such a clearing ice and snow from a rooftop, or saving cats stuck in trees, our climbers are up for the challenge.
Cats like to climb trees, and so do we! When a cat is stuck, we have the equipment and expertise to rescue it.
